5.0 out of 5 stars – Fabulous!! You must buy this book!

For people who have never had an appetite for the kitchen, this book is so wonderful! It tells you how to put your kitchen together, what basics you need and it’s everything you can find at a mainstream grocery store as well as healthfood stores.

I have a bunch of cookbooks and it seems that even when you follow the directions to the last drop, it almost never seems to turn out right. I have not had that experience with this book AT ALL and the dishes I have tried are absolutely delicious. I never knew cooking without everything we are so used to (dairy and meat) could taste this good. You will be in for a treat with this one and I can’t wait to buy copies for my friends!

5.0 out of 5 stars – This is the one I’ve been looking for!

Let me start by saying I’m a busy working mom of two. I grew up eating Hamburger Helper and hot dogs, so I didn’t learn to cook until I was an adult. My dad’s had triple bypass and my mom’s having gastric bypass, so we’re trying to learn from their mistakes and eat not entirely vegetarian, but definitely a more plant-based diet. I’m sure all this sounds familiar to a lot of people!

…nice thing about this cookbook is, unlike most vegetarian cookbooks I have seen, it doesn’t rely heavily on unusual ingredients or meat substitutes. It seems like there has to be a happy medium between burgers & fries on one hand and stuff you’ve never seen before. Surely we can make a healthy diet based on basic veggies, fruit, grains, and legumes, and that’s JUST what this book focuses on.

5.0 out of 5 stars – A Great Resource for New and Experienced Vegetarians

I recently made the decision to adopt a vegetarian lifestyle. In doing so, I new that I would need a reference guide to help me along my way. This book is a wonderful tool for anyone who may be new to the vegetarian life, or the experienced vegetarians out there. I have never eaten soy products before, and have never even seen tofu up close, so I was worried that all of the recipes that were in this book would be very complicated and difficult for a novice cook like myself to tackle.

I couldn’t have been further from the truth. Not only are the recipes in Nava’s book easy to make, they all include ingredients that are easy for me to find in my local grocery store. I come from a smaller town in West Virginia and we don’t have a health food store or vegan restaurant every 10 feet like they do elsewhere, but with this book, I am able to go to the same grocery store that I have always shopped at and get everything I need.

The recipes are healthy and very tasty, and this book has made the transition from a meat eater to a vegetarian not only easy, but fun. I now look forward to making new dishes and trying new ingredients, and I plan to check out all of Nava Atlas’s resources. She also includes great websites in the back of this book to check out. I can assure you that you will not be disappointed if you get this book.
